How to Make Croutons



Do you want to learn how to make croutons?


You’ll never run out of the most important ingredient for your favorite salads once you master this simple homemade crouton recipe. These croutons are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They are perfect for giving any salad an added crunch.

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 cups of ˝ inch bread cubes (cut from a loaf of stale French bread or other thick-crusted bread)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Toss bread cubes with olive oil, butter, garlic, salt and pepper. Pour cubes onto a baking sheet. Place in the oven at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. (Increase cook time to 12-15 minutes when using fresh bread.) Rotate the pan 1-2 times to brown all sides of the croutons. Remove pan, and allow croutons to cool.
